The short version
A new company is not the same as a new crew.
Terra Plugging Services LLC was formed in Texas in September 2026 to do one thing: plug and abandon wells. The company is new.
That matters more in plugging than in most oilfield work. Plugging is where the surprises live. The well has usually been shut in for years, the records are thin, and what the paperwork says is down there and what is actually down there have had a long time to drift apart. There is no substitute for having seen it go wrong before.
We are based in San Antonio and we work across Texas.
How we are set up
You deal with the people doing the work.
Terra is a small outfit on purpose. Whoever looks at your well and prices it is on location while it gets plugged, and the same people who run the job prepare the Commission records and hand them back to you.
There is no estimator who never sees the hole, and nobody sitting between you and the crew. One number, one email, and whoever picks up can tell you what is actually happening on your location today.
Where we stand
What we will not do.
We will not take your wells. Terra performs as an independent contractor and does not become the operator of record. We do not accept Form P-4 transfers, and it is written into our contract that we cannot. You keep your operatorship, your permits and your control of the well. We work under your Commission authority and hand the records back to you.
Plenty of operators have been approached by a plugging outfit that was really shopping for wells. That is not what this is. We are a contractor, we would like to be paid for contracting, and we want to be off your location when the work is done.
